Potassium (K) is essential in the manufacture and transport of sugars and starches and in cell division. Potassium ensures the plant produces enough sugars during flowering, which are essential for the development of the fruit and flowers. Potassium also increases a plant’s resistance to diseases and mould which become more prevalent with increasing floral size and density.
As flowering plants progress through the reproductive stage their potassium requirements increase in relation to their phosphorus needs. Critical Mass provides the perfect ratio of phosphorous to potassium for this period of development.
